Leigh has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. His career began in Melbourne, where he completed a 4-year carpentry apprenticeship with a commercial builder.
During this time, he was involved in the construction of many commercial projects inclusive of Police Stations, hospitals and medical facilities, sporting complexes, retirement villages, hospitality buildings and education. From early on in his apprenticeship, Leigh undertook supervision of many small projects such as office fit-outs and shop fit-outs and art galleries.
On completion of a carpentry apprenticeship, Leigh founded LMH Carpentry & Maintenance, delivering mostly insurance maintenance repairs as well as residential and commercial renovations & extensions throughout the metropolitan area.
After relocating to Perth with his family in 2006, Leigh founded LMH Builders and applied his construction experience managing high end residential projects across Perth western suburbs ranging in value from $2m-$15m. Also undertaking commercial structures in the aviation and marine industry.
Leigh serves as Construction Manager for InvestPrivate, the PrivateInvest shareholders’ private development entity, which also holds a registered builder’s licence.
When required, Leigh assists PrivateInvest in undertaking construction related due diligence during the assessment of loan transactions. He may also inspect construction sites as part of PrivateInvest’s execution focused lending model, supporting ongoing monitoring of projects through to completion.
